Waiting Almost Done

Now the waiting is almost done.
I lingered to see your shadow
With the sun on your back.
I passed the time to see
And to hold the sweet face
I pined for a long time.

Now the waiting is almost done
It seems you will not come.
See you then in another season,
Perhaps past this life and world.
I have not tarried around much
For fear of missing your coming.

Now the waiting is almost done.
As the last vestiges of sunlight
Prepare to hide beneath the horizon
And to kiss the heavens goodbye,
The tangerine sky fades to black.
Tomorrow holds much hope and promise.

Now the waiting is almost done.
Finally I am letting you go.
I am giving up the flimsy
Joy of your long awaited return
For tomorrow’s hope of new adventures.
I will salute the early dawn!

  17. WAITING - this has been a gift and burden to me, pushing me into the wiser edge of waiting unconditionally, that is, of growing in freedom from the categories of success and failures, of public approval and the constant scratching on the wall for what feels good - the standard we often measure ourselves with. Thank you for this beautiful signpost poem kapatid...

  18. Salamat din kapatid... Tama ka kapatid, we often measure our self-worth in these terms. And it is very hard to break free from their cadences. Most of the time, we have to step in coherent time with their beats. Indeed, waiting while enjoying the journey along with the lessons and bruises will make us grow to allow us to be free. But I think that a delicate balance should be maintained between the goal to really break free of these measures and the "getting used" to marching with their music. Perhaps a new post from you would clarify this? :)

  21. Cool Water,
I believe you will be an excellent teacher. You are passionate about the subject matter, and you also have compassion/empathy for ..... all living things. I really enjoyed catching up on your blog. It seems to have taken a different direction. The poetry is just beautiful; it adds dimension to the images. Finally, I usually don't read tags, but I had to read yours. I quite enjoyed it because it covered so many areas of your life, including your dad's underwear!

  22. Thanks Red... Okay lang.... Sunset yan... :)

  23. Haha! Thank you Caroline for your kind words... Yeah, I have to admit my blog has taken a quite different direction these few weeks probably because the weather has been erratic and it is hard to schedule a trek or an outdoor adventure because of the frequent rain... Nevertheless, I welcome this change in my blogging.

Thanks for taking time to read the tag... Hahaha! My dad also laughs when I remind him of his remark from time to time that I did not end up becoming a doctor because of the underwear... hahaha!
